DESCRIPTION:

The Air Conditioning Test Rig unit is required to conduct experiments and demonstrate the process of cooling of atmospheric air. The unit will be fitted with all instruments facilities so that temperature, pressure etc. may be measured at different points in the air conditioning system. The set up also provide the facility to conduct the experiment of heating of air, humidification.

EXPERIMENTATION:

To study the Vapour Compression air conditioning cycle.
To Calculate Co-efficient of performance- (COP) by the use of P-H diagram.
To carry out heating process of fresh air
To measure dry bulb, wet bulb temperature of inlet and outlet air.
To study the humidification of air.
To study the dehumidification of air.

UTILITIES REQUIRED:

Electric supply Single Phase, 220 V AC, 50 Hz., 32Amp MCB with earth connection.
Floor area : 2 m x 1m

TECHNICAL DETAILS:

Compressor	Hermitically sealed compressor.Capacity 1 Ton, Kirloskar make.
Condenser	Air cooled compatible to 1 Toncompressor
Condenser Cooling fan	Compatible capacity with permanent lubricated motor.
Pressure Gauges	2 Nos.
Evaporator	Compatible to 1 Ton, made of copper tube and aluminium fins fitted with compatible capacity fan.
Heater	Compatible capacity for heating.
Steam Generator	Made of Stainless Steel provided with Pressure Gauge & Level Indicator, Safety valve and drain etc. & insulated with ceramic wool and cladding with Aluminium foil for humidification.
Sling Psychometer	For dry bulb and wet bulb temperature measurement.
Safety Control	Over load and over current protection for Compressor with Time delay circuit.
Expansion Device	Capillary Tube compatible capacity.
Temperature Sensor	RTD PT-100 Type.
Temperature Measurement	Digital Temperature Indicator with multi-channel switch.
All Other accessories like Hand shut off valves, filter drier and Thermostat, Pressure gauges will be provided.
An ENGLISH instruction manual will be provided along with the Apparatus
The whole set-up is well designed and arranged on a rigid structure painted with industrial PU Paint.
