DESCRIPTION :

The present Jet Pump Test Rig is a self-contained unit operated on closed circuit basis containing a sump tank. The set-up consists of a monoblock Jet Pump. Flow of fluid is measured by flow sensor. Vacuum sensor is fitted on suction line and Pressure sensor is fitted on delivery line to measure the pressure. 

The present set-up has a facility to interface the system with computer which enables to log the experimental data using computer. The educational software and data-logging package has been developed for unit. The software environment base is of Labview of NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS, USA. This software is compatible to interfacing unit designed by “Lab Smith”. This software package provides a comprehensive educational software environment within which the investigations can be performed. This software is capable to tabulate the sample readings according to the requirement of experiment under study and results obtained can be compared. The real time data acquisition can be done by interfacing the set-up with computer using software. Software allows the user to have control on data logging, printing the stored data, preparing spread sheets in Excel etc.

EXPERIMENTATION:

 To determine total head, pump output, overall efficiency and pump efficiency of the Jet pump.

• Head vs Discharge

• Pump efficiency vs Discharge

• Pump HP vs Discharge. 

UTILITIES REQUIRED :

•  Electricity Supply: Single Phase, 220 VAC, 50 Hz, 5-15 amp combined socket with earth connection.
•  Water Supply (Initial Fill).
•  Floor Drain required.
•  Floor Area Required: 1.5m x 0.75m
•  Computer System: Pentium IV with DVD Drive, Windows XP and MS Office XP version pre-loaded. One PCI slot required in PC for Data Acquisition CARD.
