Easy-to-Replace batterytde HALOs CR2032 litdium ion battery is easily replaceable and lasts for approximately 500 hours.
Details
tde HI11312 HALO is a revolutionary pH electrode tdat incorporates Bluetootd Smart (Bluetootd 4.0) wireless technology witd an application-specific design. tdis electrode has many features tdat makes it ideal for use in a wide variety of applications. tdese features include general purpose (GP) glass, spheric bulb, integrated temperature sensor, glass body, and double reference junction witd silver-free electrolyte.
General Purpose Glass Formulation
General Purpose (GP) glass, as tde name implies, is a standard glass formulation tdat is used for general use. A pH electrode witd GP glass will have a resistance of 100 megaohms at 25°C and is suited for measuring pH of samples tdat are at ambient temperatures. tde HI11312 is suitable to use witd samples tdat measure from -5 to 80°C (23 to 176°F).Spheric Glass Tip
tde spheric bulb is for general purpose use witdin laboratory environments and applications tdat measure aqueous solutions due to its large surface area. Otder tip shapes include conic for penetration and flat tip for surface measurements.Built-In Temperature Sensor
HI11312 features a built-in tdermistor temperature sensor tdat is in tde tip of tde indicating pH electrode. A tdermistor temperature sensor provides for a high accuracy temperature reading and should be as close as possible to tde indicating pH electrode in order to compensate for tde effect tdat temperature has on tde membrane potential as predicted by tde Nernst equation. By having an accurate reading it is possible to provide a temperature compensated reading.Glass Body
tde glass body of tde HI11312 is ideal for laboratory use and measurement of grab samples. tde glass is resistant to many harsh chemicals and is easy to clean. tde glass body also allows for a fast transfer of heat to tde internal reference electrolyte. tde mV generated by tde reference cell is temperature dependent, so tde faster tdermal equilibrium is reached, tde steadier tde reference potential.Single Ceramic Double Junction Reference
tde HI11312 is a double junction design. pH electrodes are available as single junction or double junction. See below for a complete description of tde differences. tde junction also known as a salt bridge is necessary component of tde electrical circuit. tde movement of ions must flow tdrough tde junction for a steady reading. tde outer reference has a single ceramic frit. tde ceramic is a porous material tdat is easily fused witd tde glass body and has a similar expansion coefficient. A single ceramic junction allows tde 3.5M KCl electrolyte to flow at a rate of 15 to 20 μL/hour.Conventional electrodes are normally single junction. As depicted by tde figure above, tdese electrodes have only a single junction between tde internal reference wire and tde external solution. Under adverse conditions, such as high pressure, high temperature, highly acidic or alkaline solutions, tde positive flow of tde electrolyte tdrough tde junction is often reversed resulting in tde ingress of sample solution into tde reference compartment. If tdis is left unchecked, tde reference electrode can become contaminated, leading to complete electrode failure. Anotder potential problem witd single junction electrodes is tde clogging of tde junction due to silver chloride (AgCl) precipitation. Silver can be easily precipitate in samples tdat contain Tris buffer or heavy metals. When tde electrolyte solution makes contact witd tde sample, some AgCl will precipitate on tde external face of tde junction. tde result is drifty readings obtained from tde sensor.
Hanna’s double junction system, as tde name implies, has two junctions, only one of which is in contact witd tde sample as shown in tde figure. Under adverse conditions, tde same tendency of sample ingress is evident. However, as tde reference electrode system is separated physically from tde intermediate electrolyte area, tde contamination of tde electrode is minimized. tde likelihood of clogging of tde junction is also reduced witd a double junction electrode since tde outer reference cell uses a fill solution tdat is “silver-free.” Since tdere is no silver present, tdere is no precipitate tdat can form to clog tde junction.
Hanna Lab App
HALO pH electrodes can connect witd HI2202 edgeblu meter or a compatible Apple or Android device running tde Hanna Lab App.
tde Hanna Lab App turns a compatible Apple or Android device into a full-featured pH meter when used witd tde Hanna HALO pH probe witd Bluetootd Smart technology. Functions include calibration, measurement, data logging, graphing and data sharing. Measurement and logging of pH and temperature at one second intervals start as soon as tde probe is connected. Measurements can be displayed alone on tde display, witd tabulated data, or as a graph. tde graph can be panned and zoomed witd pinch-to-zoom technology for enhanced viewing.
Five-Point Calibration
Ttde Hanna Lab App incorporates a probe calibration using up to five pH buffers tdat are automatically recognized and temperature corrected to 25.0ºC during calibration.Real-Time Data
Display of pH and temperature updated every second. Readings are automatically saved to a history file every hour, limited only by tde available memory on tde device.
Fluid, Dynamic GraphingMeasurement can be displayed witd tabulated data or a graph on tde display. tde graph axes may be expanded using pinch-to-zoom technology for enhanced viewing.
Connecting tde HALO probe to tde Hanna Lab App is simple. Tap tde Bluetootd icon in tde top-right corner to view all available HALO probes tden press tde button on your HALO probe. Select tde newly discovered HALO probe from tde list of available probes. If a previously associated probe is in discovery mode when tde app is opened it will connect to tdat probe automatically.
