GD/XP Syringe Filter

Code:

GD/XP Syringe Filter

GE’s Whatman GD/XP disposable syringe filter, a modification of the GD/X line, uses a polypropylene prefilter stack, making GD/XP suitable for samples that require inorganic ion analysis.

  • Incorporates a two-layer polypropylene prefilter stack rather than a multi-layer glass fiber stack to minimize levels of ion extractables
  • Extremely low protein binding filter
  • High loading volume for filtration of challenging samples

Disposable syringe filter for trace metal analysis

Because of their high purity and minimal ion extractables, GD/XP syringe filters are recommended for analyzing ion content that would otherwise experience interference from glass-based extractables. For example, GD/XP is used for trace metal analysis, particularly ion analysis using inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry (ICP-MS).

GD/XP syringe filter with integrated prefilter

The Whatman GD/XP disposable syringe filter from GE Healthcare’s Life Sciences business has several different membrane material options. These include:

  • Nylon
  • Polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF)
  • Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE)
  • Polypropylene – membrane or depth filter media
  • Polyethersulfone (PES)
