Electro Surgical Unit
Electrosurgery is the application of a high-frequency electric current to biological tissue as a means to cut, coagulate, desiccate, or fulgurate tissue. In Electro Surgical Unit, the heat is transferred to tissue from a preheated object. The current heats only the electrode and does not pass through the patient’s body. True electrosurgery involves the cutting or coagulation of tissues by passing a high- frequency current through the target tissue
Three surgical effects can be produced in electrosurgical procedures.
Electro Surgical Unit uses both mono and bipolar procedures. The monopolar procedure is the Electro Surgical Unit procedure that needs the use of a Patient Plate for the return current path. Our machine like all modern ES generators provides a two wire floating output circuit. The Bipolar Procedures do not need the use of a patient plate. They generally use a forceps where each limb is electrically insulated from the other. The Bipolar Coagulation techniques are generally preferred in neuro, gynaec, microsurgery, hand surgery and vascular surgery etc
